Preface

Department of Law at NWU offers different programs. From the very beginning the department aims at producing law-abiding and resourceful human beings. The department makes concerted endeavors with the capacity of rational and conscientious responses through legal and practical studies by introducing modernized undergraduate and graduate courses.

To enhance creativity of students, the department has arranged various curricular activities like Seminars, Workshops, Legal Quiz Competitions, Judicial and Legal Presentations, Moot-court Presentation etc. To kindle the various skills among the students, the department encourages extra-curricular activities like Study tour, Court-Visits and Cultural programs, Games and sports and Club activities etc.

The curriculum of the department has been prepared as per OBE standard with essential and modern highly significant steps and motivated to set up a center of excellence for legal studies which not only addresses and provides meaningful solutions for pressing ground realities but is capable of offering International Standard Legal Education, research and analysis which is in tune with the latest development in these fields in legal studies.

The profession of law has however undergone a metamorphosis in recent years so that law professionals are being increasingly expected to play a vital role in the economic regulation, corporate governance, economic and political policy making and the restructuring of the state. The Department of Law offers 140 Credits consisting of 8 semesters in 4 (Four) Academic Years. In each year every student has to complete 2 semesters— First and Second.
