Prize-giving ceremony of the Inter Department Cricket Tournament 2024 held at NWU

As a part of co-curricular activities, North Western University organized an Inter Department Cricket Tournament 2024, which started on February 27th, 2024, and ended successfully on February 29th, 2024. The purposes of this tournament were to break the monotony, create leadership qualities among students, and foster a fruitful relationship between faculties and students. In this regard, all the departments tried to create a hardworking mentality among students, helping them to understand the importance of teamwork.

In this tournament, six teams took spontaneous participation, and each team was assigned by one faculty member of the department as team manager. Six teams are divided into two groups in the tournament. Three teams are assigned to each group. Every team in this tournament had to face the group stage, and then A total of four teams from two groups in the group stage qualify for the knockout stage. After the knockout stage, two teams were eliminated from the tournament, and the remaining two teams were promoted to the final. In this stage, a competitive final match was held between the departments of EEE and Civil Engineering on February 29, 2024. The Department of EEE and the Department of Civil Engineering faced each other in the final, and the Department of EEE bagged the championship trophy while the Department of Civil Engineering achieved the runner-up trophy in the competition. The honorable vice chancellor of North Western University, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Md. Enayatul Babar, distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Besides, NWU high officials, faculty members, and students were also present at the program.

In the prize distribution and closing ceremony, the newly appointed vice chancellor of the university said that by participating in such tournaments, the mentality of both winning and losing students will increase. And directed to continue organizing such tournaments along with academic studies. Besides, he promised to organize such events on the university's own campus in the future.
