Independence and National Day celebrated in North Western University

Independence and National Day was celebrated in North Western University in a befitting manner and with due solemnity. Memorial Rally reached at Gallamari Monument and was laying floral wreath on behalf of the University on Sunday morning at 8 am. After the memorial ceremony, a discussion and doa mahfil was held, chaired by the University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Tarapada Bhowmick. The University Board of Trustees Chairman Talukder Abdul Khaleque (MP) was present as the chief guest. Special guest was Professor Md. Nowsher Moral, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology and Registrar Md Ali. Shahidul Islam. The chief guest in his speech recalled respectfully outstanding leadership and contribution of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and bengalis disposing heroes to the brave in the struggle for the independence of Bangladesh. He discussed the history of Bangladesh Liberation War and appealed everyone to work together to build Bangabandhu s Gold Bengali. The study on the history of the people of all walks of life, he stressed. They analyzed the significance of Independence Day and appealed the future generation of the country to become responsible citizen and skilled manpower. The heads of the various departments with a large number of teachers, officers, employees and students were present. Overall management was conducted by Lecturer Sk. Mahrufur Rahman and Aroj Ali.
